How did you find out about mavalus tape?: I was a high school math
teacher for 36 1/2 years and this tape was absolutely tremendous. I
used it so often and there was never any damage to what I put up on the
walls or to the walls themselves. I also purchased it to use at my
home. I use it to label things for my grandchildren and dishes and
utensils that I take to family events. My things are readily
identifiable. One day at a family crawfish boil someone asked if I'd
brought a certain dish of food. My older nephew, that often times looks
like he isn't paying attention to details said, "Well, does it have red
tape on it?" Everyone laughed and he was endeared to me even more. It
does make an impression. I labeled my grandchildren's sippy cups years
ago with the tape and put the letter of their first name on the tape
with Sharpie markers--way before they learned to read. The original
labels are still attached and readable after many years of going through
the dishwasher. My oldest grandchild is 8 and her original cup is still
in good condition with the original red tape identifer on it--she uses
it with out the lid now. But when we travel I take the tops along for
use in the car.
I use it to tape the tops on containers of food I take to friends or
family to make certain that there are no leaks or spills. My
grandchildren use it to make projects and tape things together. I cook
in large quantities and put into smaller containers to freeze. I label
those containers with red tape and the name of what's in the container
and then put them into the freezer. It stays on much better than
ordinary freezer tape. We have an alarm on our doors and when armed we
put a piece of the tape on the door knob to remind us that the alarm is
armed. That has helped to save our ears.
I wish that the tape were available to be ordered directly from the
company as often times I don't have time to go to the school supply
store and have run out of the tape and am in need of it immediately.

"Mavalus Tape from D.S.S. Distributing is very popular. You can use it to hang posters on many surfaces, even concrete walls. We had a laminated chart up on the wall outside the store for almost three months. It held up beautifully, even in the wind and rain. When you remove it, it doesn't damage your artwork."

I used mavalus tape this past school year, after hearing about it on proteacher. I used it to hang posters, pictures, and even my door decoration on the outside of my door. My outside door happened to be in an open wing, so when it rained hard (as it does in southeast La,where I teach), and the door got completely soaked with water, the decoration NEVER came down...(this happened multiple times this past school year, by the way...during our evening "monsoons"). I didn't take my door decoration down until May, and never had to come and put up and extra piece of tape on the door, either, which was amazing to me...the tape was great...no left over residue...and this was on a steel door. So, for this year, I bought 3 more rolls, so I can put more things up with this tape. :)

A must have for me is Mavalus tape. I haven't had to retape anything all year long because the tape works so well. You can easily hang student work up in the hallway and not worry about it falling down when someone walks by. My mentor recommended it to me, and I would definitely recommend it to someone else.

From an article in the Victoria Advocate about how local retailers in Victoria TX prepare far in advance for back-to-school season.
This year's order included about 200 Prang paint sets, 100 easy graders - which help teachers grade papers more quickly - and the store will likely go through 300 rolls of Mavalus tape. The special tape, which doesn't damage surfaces, is the only tape the Victoria school district will allow on the new schools' walls, Haas said.

Mavalus Tape! I've used it to put bulletin board paper up on cement walls; then used more to put the bulletin board pieces and border on the paper. It held the paper for the entire year with me changing the pieces/border each month.

Mavalus Tape is truly mavalus. You could even say "marvelous," but it's made in Louisiana, hence the pronunciation. This tape holds your classroom materials up for years, and then comes down without damaging your stuff or your walls. It's great for calendars, timelines, and other cases when you want to be able to move the items around. If that sentence made no sense to you, then you are probably not a teacher. You'll still like Mavalus tape. It is unaffected by temperature, so it works well for labeling foods in your freezer, it'll keep your kids' posters up as long as they want them up, and it's perfect for posting notes.

Mavalus tape does stick to all type of surfaces. I have used it in my classroom for posters which all stay in place throughout the year. This is the best tape going for attaching items to the wall. It leaves no mess behind when removed, and it is actually reusable. A little bit of tape goes a long way.

This year I got new desks because my school caught on fire and my room was destroyed. So, when I finally got the new desks, I laminated the name plates and stuck them on with "mavalus" tape. They stayed put and didn't leave any sticky residue behind! It's awesome! It can stick anything to anything and is super strong!!! I love it!!!

School Aids has a special tape that may just "feel" like regular masking tape, though it is definitely not! This stuff sticks to everything yet will come off without leaving a residue on your surface. In fact, I even had a Target pocket chart hung on my shower board last year without any problems. And yes, in Louisiana, where it is very humid! I probably rolled up some of the tape to make it double sided and put it on each corner of the pocket chart and maybe two pieces down the center. It held up when I was teaching K. They even did interactive activities in the pocket chart, such as counting money. Never did it seem like the pocket chart was about to fall. Visit www.schoolaids.com (I can't post links yet) and in the search box type "Mavalus." This stuff is well worth the price. I did work there for four years and never had a customer return the product...there is a money back guarantee if it does not work for you. That is how confident they are in the product. Now that I am a teacher it is all I use for hanging things up, besides when I hot glue things that can be hot glued to save a little $.
